Alright, so a friend of mine has a '98 Civic SI and is running into some problems with it .. I thought I'd come on here and see if anyone can help figure out what could be wrong.
#1: Each time she turns right there is a grinding noise coming from the passenger side wheel. I'm not sure if the car has power steering, if it does could it be the pump and/or fluid levels? Otherwise .. we're lost, LOL
#2: There has been a loud hissing, almost like a loud whistling, noise coming from under the hood for the past 4 months or so and is just getting louder as time goes on. Is this the timing belt? The car has over 100,000 miles on it and I don't think it's been replaced yet ...
#3: Both power windows have trouble coming back up when they are put down. In colder weather they can't be put down past half way or they won't come back up. Is this the motor for the power windows .. is it about time to have that replaced? As well, the driver side window no longer closes properly. Is this because the clips are old and need to be replaced .. could it be that the window is falling off the track? And if so, how would you fix that issue?
... Any help is greatly appreciated. We're just a couple girls trying to figure out whats wrong before heading over to the mechanics and having them try to play us like we don't know anything about anything. Just want to go in with some kind of clue! LOL
Thanks
