How Hard is it to replace power window motor in 91 Accord
Hi,
After almost 200k, the power windows in my 1991 Accord EX are finally giving up the ghost. One of the rear door windows only goes up to within a half inch of the top, leaving a gap that can cause problems if it rains. The driver's side door only goes down about three inches and then makes a horrid noise and stops. With a little coaxing I can usually get it back up.
I'm betting the motors are just getting too old to do their job. I've seen a "power window regulators" offered online for around $70 each that supposedly include the motor. Assuming replacing the current regulator with this will solve my problem, how hard will it be to pull the old one out and replace it with this? I have a reasonable mechanical aptitude but I'm certainly not a car guy. I did pull the door panels off to reconnect the plug to the power locks a while ago and didn't have any trouble doing that.
One other note, the motor I found said it was suitable for sedans made in Japan. How can I quickly confirm that my 91 accord ex was indeed manufactured in the land of the rising sun?
Thanks!
