How difficult and expensive is it to convert my automatic '89 Honda Prelude to a 5 spd manual?
How much would it cost to have someone do this (parts and labor)? Is it possible to do this yourself if you are not a mechanic?

it may be aroung $2,000 but not sure, but one thing i have heard, is that sometimes when u do that, they dont pass the somecheck anymore, it wont be the same as it used to be, this i HEARD im not sure about it, but the price maybe around that much, maybe more maybe less.

More than the car is worth. If you are not a mechanic then you probably do not have the tools it would require. What you would save in man hours would be nothing compared to the cost of tools and parts. It would be cheaper to buy an '89 Honda Prelude that already has a standard transmission.

at One 6 motorsports in IL the auto manual swap cost $1500 with labor and parts.

Not something you should attempt unless you have experience..If you had a donor junker and bought a used trans, you could do this for 300.00 if you use new parts, and have a mechanic do it ...3000.00If it were me, I would look for a different car....
