I have a 98 Honda Civic EX and for about a year now the light behind the climate controls don't always come on when the head/parking lights are on. If I hit the side of the dash or move the hot/cold or fan switch(or both)from one side to the other the light will come on. But recently now all the dash lights(cluster, radio back lighting and climate) fail to turn on when I turn the driving lights on. My dome lights work fine and the fuse(7.5amp)for the instrument panel is not blown. I thought maybe I bumped the dimmer switch but found that was not the case. If I move the dial for the dimmer back and forth they eventually come on but that doesn't always work.Do I have a sort somewhere in the dsh board wires or is maybe the dimmer switch needing to be replaced ? Any advice from you gearheads out there would be very helpful and greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like 2 problems1..dimmer switch is going out/gone2.the connections/bulb at the climate controls is faulty

sounds to me like an old wiring harness needs to be replaced...

You might need to change a fuse.
