I just bought a '97 Civic HX with a bad transmission. I have to accelerate very gradually because the tranny doesn't engage until the engine gets up around 1500 rpm.
Anyway, I can't find an HX tranny. Can I mate a tranny from a D16Y7 or D16Y8 up to the D16Y5 engine and ECU straight away? Is there any difference between the D16Y7 and D16Y8 trannies? If so, which would be a better match for the D16Y5 motor? Last edited by DaveInPhx; 18 Apr 2008 at 12:25 am. |
