Advance the timing from -15 BTDC to -17 deg and run mid-grade or premium - cost FREE. Shorty cold air intake - cost $10-50, drill out the catalytic converter (they are only rated for 50k miles) - cost FREE. These should get another mpg or two and 5-10 hp.

I'd recommend a cheap 2-3" muffler and some new spark plugs. If putting a cone air filter didn't make my car misfire and display a check engine light I'd say that instead of the plugs. As is though, you never know when your MAF will hate your filter, then you have to splurge for stand alone fuel air management which is not cheap.

id have to agree with L H on advancing ur timing if ur standin on the passenger side of ur engine u would advance the timing by moving it to ur left, also get some ngk plugs and better wires not the 7mm, cold air intake from ebay will be about $20 or $30, get some 4-into-1 headers also if u can.
