I have a Civic 2004. I have been going to the dealership and following the maintenance schedule. But the more I think about it, the more I see it as a scam. Does anyone follow the maintenance schedule? Why or Why not?

the only Maintenance schedule i follow is changing the oil every 4,000 miles and replacing timing belt near 100,000 miles. Changing timing belt before 100,000 is so very important if you do not you are likely going to end up rebuilding your engine. The only other reason is if it is under warranty, because if you keep up with regular maintenance when under warranty then they are liable if anything breaks.
