Default Will I have any problem swapping in Calif Spec F22A1 in place of 49-state F22A4?

I bought a '90 Accord EX cheap knowing I would probably have to swap out the engine (crankshaft accessory end mangled due to hack fix of crossthreaded/broken off main bolt)

I have a friend who regularly does engine swaps on CB7's say that I could interchange between F22A1 and F22A4 without issue (I intend to keep using the original engine computer in the car, and the existing 4-into-2 header-type exhaust)

I would have liked to find a good A4 engine, but in my area I would have had to pay several hundred more for a good A4 junkyard engine, and I don't really need the extra power. (I currently drive a '93 LX with an A1 that seems plenty peppy to me.) I didn't realize that my replacement motor was a CA-spec unit until I ran a CarFax on the VIN that the junkyard provided for the donor car.

Separate question: The timing belt chamber in my replacement engine is really oily, and I plan to replace all of the seals and pull off the oil pump so I can reattach it using a fresh application of sealant. Any suggestions about which sealant product is the best for reattaching the oil pump assembly to the block?

Thanks!
Bryan
