Default radio code? 2001 Honda odyssey?

i took my van to a Honda dealership because there was a recall on the 2001 Honda odyssey transmission.when i went to pick up my van the radio wouldn't work, Honda said they had nothing to do with it,and that the code to set the radio was on the back of the radio, and that they would charge $65 to pull out the radio. well i had my brother-in-law take out the radio, and no code was found. so if anyone has the code i would appreciate it..thank you..(it is the vans original radio)

There may be a sticker in the glove box that gives the code or it should be a part of your paperwork on the van but if neither things workIf you are the registered owner, contact American Honda https://radio-navicode.honda.com/Each radio has it's own unique code and they will upon ownership proof provide the code to you for free

any time that the battery is removed or the vehicle has no battery present the radio will reset this is a safety feature built into hondas if someone was to break in and steal your radio they would not be able to use it this has happened more than once to me it should be in your purchase slips it is called a "radio security card" and owners manual i doubt that it would be on the back of the radio because that would defeat the purpose of having the code as a thief could just enter it into their own vehicle and use your radio.

There is no default code, try the following.1. Look in glove box for small sticker with numbers, should be 5 digits with numbers no greater then 6.2. Pull out the ashtray and see if the sticker is on the back of there.(older models that have them)3. Pull radio from dash and write down radio serial number and call local dealer with that number and they will be able to get the code for you. They will ask verifying questions.4. If you happen to have all the books from the dealer look in the 'HONDA SERVICE HISTORY' book, NOT the owners manual. It should be on the first page in the AUDIO CODE box.The dealer can not give you the code for the radio with your VIN unless you purchased the car from the dealer and they still have your info on file. If they charge you it's because they will do step three above. Some say if you turn off radio and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons then turn radio on it will give you the serial number.

I just wanted to say thank you to the person who wrote this!!! My battery went dead today and after recharging it the radio in my 2006 Odyssey only displayed "code."

After reading the manual and searching on the internet I couldn't believe the trouble I would have to go through to get that five digit code! I couldn't find it anywhere in my paperwork. The service department is closed for the weekend, too.

Then I searched this forum and found the magic answer! As you said, the code was on a sticker in the glove box and it worked just fine!
