Default honda del sol break down.?

I was just driving down the road and my del sol's engine stopped and i had to pull over on the side of the road. The engine will crank but wont turn over. Any ideas while i wait for the tow truck to take it to the shop?

the usual cause is either running out of fuel (or a fuel pump that has stopped working) or losing the spark to the spark plugs. If there is no spark then the cause is usually a bad ignition coil or ignition module in the distributor.if there is no fuel and no spark then the cause is the main relay that controls the fuel pump and the ignition.its pretty easy to test for spark by grounding a spark plug lead and cranking the engine. You won't be able to do that by yourself by the tow truck driver probably knows how to do that. doing that will narrow your possibilities downhope that helps

It is unlikely for a cap, rotor, or spark plugs to just quit working like that. But the coil can give out. When you turn the key to the second position you should hear the fuel pump engage. If not, it is the fuel pump--either blew a fuse or you need a new one.Timing belt breaking isn't too unheard of either. If it has a lot of miles on the belt, I wouldn't rule that out.-Chris
