Default I need help...

I just bought my daughter a 98 Civic LX Automatic yesterday. Nice shape. 153K on it. Checked everything I could. She bought it. Drove it 70 miles home. All good...very good. I just took it for a test drive, and all was good. Until I came down (down hill my street)...I put it in reverse and went to back up...it backed up...but a shreaking metal on metal sound came form the engine compartment (transmission) I then drive to the bottom of the street (level) did a three point turn and no problem. The noise seems to only happen when applying torque in reverse...even on a level surface if I gun it a little in reverse it happens...

...can old tranny fluid cause this?

...IT seems to run perfectly except for this...
