Default rattle noise?

i have 97 civic, and its so annoying when i drive the car to a stop sign or light, and something seem to make my hood rattle, i dont what it is but when i press my hand on front of the hood a little hard while the engine's running, the noise is gone but when i let go of my hands, the noise comes back even tho the hood is close tight already.

take those two rubber stoppers that your hood rest on, and uncrew them some more, not remove, but move them up, if they max out and the problem persist, then you need to loosen (not remove) the 10mm bolts that actually hold the latch assembly to the core support, push it (the latch assembly) down, while holding pressure, re tighten the 10mm bolts. This will also tighten the connection, it may take an attempt or two to find the "sweet spot" Good Luck!

OK ! No worry. Just bring it to you local machanic and get him to readjust the hood damper. Its located in front of the hood, right above the head lamps. Its easy to find, the 2 damper will look like 2 round rubber knobs. Your local machanic will simply readjust the height of it & sometimes they do need to readjust the hood lock too.You might be interested to get done yourself, not a hazard or dangerous anyway.
