You could do the basics, Intake, Header, Exhaust, next step up could be a mild camshaft and valvetrain upgrade, the possibilities are quite wide, it all depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you want a fun daily driver or a fast built car that can run on the track?

The easiest and cheapest route would be to put either a d16y8 or d16z6 head and ecu in the car. Then install the standard intake header and cat back exhaust. That will give you a reasonably quick and fun car.

Like what everyone else say above me, you can go with basic bolt ons (I/H/E). If you want more, you can do a mini-me setup, (vtec head on non-v block). If you want even more, you can build up the block & head and throw a turbo kit on top.
