Default 91 Honda Civic DX rough idle?

Hello. I recently purchased a used 1991 Honda Civic DX 2D HB. I love the car but have been having a few issues. 1. The car almost always starts on the second try, having the engine warm seems to help somewhat. 2. It idles roughly not when I first start the car, but after its been running for a few mins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks. It has 110,000 miles.

what can you expect from a HONDA.You should've invested in a FORD... that way, you'd have enough money to be able to buy a new one now.

check the spark plugs and also the wires make sure one isnt loose this will cause timing to be a bit off and make sure the idle speed is set correctly, next to your intake manifold there is a flat head screw adjust that a bit til it gets smooth. you may also want to change the fuel filter this can cause your hard starts
