Default Modifying a Civic?

I have a 2000 honda civic and ive been interested in modifying it and/or street racing for awhile. I have no clue what to modify first as far as the engine goes. suggestions?

well if you want you could swap engines for a few grand and then your done. but if its a non vetech get some bolt on parts like turbo it. or the cheap way with a small hp gain like exhaust, intake, headers, new cams theres so much to do with your car

i would deffinately get a b16a2 out of an Si of that year. then get headers a high flow cat and an exhaust. id suggest a 5zeigen fireball muffler it has a deep sound that isnt ricey at all. then do internals like bore it out get civic type r pistons u can get those with the rings for about 300 bucks. and it raises ur compression ratio. then get better sleeves a cosmetic head gasket better valves and valve springs u can port and polish it. get a better intake system. aem v2 intakes are pretty good. if u want u can turbo it but thats not really how i do things. i like naturally aspirated all motor cars. get a b&m short shifter. u will need better spark plugs and spark plug wires and u should get an msd ignition and a better distributor get better tires. something kumho pirelli or falkens id say. light rims. if u want it to look stock and nice u could go with si rims. they are pretty put a stock spoiler on for looks. it looks good and doesnt look ricey. dont get a big shopping cart wing cuz its a front wheel drive car and doesnt do anything but sit there and look gay. oh and flash your ecu. take it to a shop to take off all the restrictions and mess with ur fuel and air flow and stuff. then get it tuned. and thats a good start ))

If your looking for easy stuff you could actually do.You can start with bolt ons like intake (short air or cold air intakes) rims. ECU chip, exhaust, etc.

don't street race. it gets a bit too dangerous now and if your new out on the streets. dont get caught up =[. but as far as mods i dont know your price range but the most common mods for cheap are intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys, cam gears, if you have the money do an engine swap and/or turbo it
