what you can due is look for a v tech engine with its tranny, you will have to modif.. some of the chasis, also get the ecu and the harness, if your lucky and find it it shoul coast you about 3g for all the work get the exhaust work also make sure that the engine is not burnning oil.

Why do you need a 180 mph car? I'm just saying that's not very safe and it would probably require more than 6k (custom tranny...).Anyways, if you want something with fast acceleration your best bet is to lay that money down on a stable turbo set up. Have everything tuned, chip the ecu, weight redux, the list goes on and on and really its up too you what you want your car to beIf your not good with cars it would be a good idea to read up on some stuff or become friends with some who knows a lot... Otherwise you'll be in for some headaches, good luck and have some fun!

Get a v8 American car, people who want a fast car will buy a sport car, not an economy car. Sports car are built for speed Honda's are not.think about it do you really want to race against this

well first of all ur gonna have to change the guage cluster cuz the fastest ive seen is 160 and thats with a new accord with a v6. the 99-00 si only does 140. ur gonna have to do a motor ecu and tranny swap. performance transmission. either b16 or b18. might as well get a b18 cuz ur gonna want to bore it out and well..boring out a b16 to a b18 is really pointless just get the 1.8. then turbo it. performance pistons sleeves get a valve job exhaust and intake u can run straight pipe and open intake if u want to be louder than hell but its illegal and u wont pass emissions. well in arizona u wont. u have to get rid of all the restrictions that comes with the stock ecu. get a hondata or something....its really ur car and u should figure it out for ur self cuz u dont want to be some douche who gets this super quick car and doesnt know anything about it. u just look like a rich snob who nobody will really like or look up to. go learn more about ur car and the honda scene

That thing isn't going to go 180, unless you drop it from the cargo door of a C-130 flying at 10,000 feet.

with a honda you can wind up spending 6k just to gain 20 horse power....by a real car if you want to spend little and gain alot of power buy a v6 or v8,4 cyl. engines are not good power makers unless you put a turbo on it

Not happening. Even if you built a D16Z6 engine to handle forced induction, slapped a turbo on it, and used a '92-'95 CX/VX transmission, you're still not going to see 180mph. The '92-'95 CX/VX transmission theoretically will allow you to hit 214.5mph when topping out 5th gear. I say theoretically, because there are many variables involved that would stop you from ever hitting that speed. Wind resistance/aerodynamics being a huge variable that will stop you. As well as heat and friction being big issues as well, specifically on the engine internals. 180mph is for sports cars that were aerodynamically designed to reach those speeds. $6,000 isn't going to be enough to spend on parts and modifications to make your Civic aerodynamic enough to hit those speeds. You'll be lucky to hit 155-160mph. And where are you going to hit that kind of speed anyways? Even an aftermarket brake system is likely going to give out on you when you slam on your brakes, because someone cuts in front of you on the highway when you're doing a top speed run; trust me I've had that unfortunate experience before (I wasn't driving). But being realistic, forget about mph. With your budget, you could get a B18C1, B18C5, or H22A swap, and have enough for other quality parts; suspension, rims & tires, intake, exhaust, and header. You're still not going to be crazy fast, but that's about as fast as you'll get with your budget and knowledge.
