Default So I want to supe out a car, is a Civic good?

Ok so to start off I have to say I have no clue when it comes to cars. I want to get a car that is affordable and has the possibility of being a bad ass car. I don't care too much about looks as much as i do whats in the car. I have no idea what to get so i was wondering if anyone could like help me and tell me what to buy thats affordable and will help my car go faster and if anyone knows a really good sound system. So i know manuals are faster than automatics and more fun but I was wondering if automatics had potential of being fast. Also does the year of the car matter because i think im getting a '04 Civic Coupe. Anything would help if anyone has any advance, Thank You.

auto can move with a shift kit, but thats big bucks. Civic are easy to get parts for and do up because of the number done up. I like GTI's my self, Less done up better looking.

I don't know if Honda makes the CRX anymore, but from what I'm reading the Si can be tricked out.A civic can be sported out, just a matter of finding the right kits. Oh and make sure it's a VTEC.

If you really truly want to go fast... don't buy a honda. Seriously, I eat those all the time with my SATURN SL2! [[Let alone my built Eclipse...]]. Buy a car that has decent power to begin with. Honda Civics, despite what anyone tells you, were designed to be economy cars. Not that that's a bad thing, but they weren't built for racing.I race, and my boyfriend races professionally, and I'm telling you... you never see fast Hondas at the track. And at the street races it's not any better.Buy a car that has more displacement than a bottle of mountain dew! Buy a car that isn't naturally aspirated.I have a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST [[not a good beginner car though...]]There's Mustangs... Camaros...If you buy a Honda, and you think it's the pinnacle of automotive perfection, you are a god damned retard and you WILL be laughed at.IF YOU WANT TO WRITE ME, I CAN ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.

first off do not listen to girls about cars lmao........anyways yeah i mean an 04 civic would be a nice starter car they don't have alot of power the ex has around 127 hp and that is really not anything compared to alot of other cars, but there is a good way to get alot more power, you could buy a header that will give you around 8 to 10 hp, then you could buy a nice exhaust system i would perfer getting dc sports header and dc sports exhuast, that will give you about 25 to 30 hp and also buy aem cold air intake not a short ram but an actual cold air intake, that will give you about 10 so with just those few parts your car will have about 40 more hp, that really is not alot and alot more hp can be obtained i honestly recommend getting a turbo kit and aftermarket internals and boost the civic, that way you could be beating alot of cars but it depends on how much money you got in the bank, and for the sound system i would get two 15 inch jl audios and rockford fosgate amp you will be bumping forreal, and please don't listen to girls who think they know shit about cars, have you seen any girl mechanics lmao they hear stuff from their boyfriends and try to act like they know whats going on

u dont race an automatic until u get up into the really low times. get a 99 honda civic Si it has 160 hp off the lot and it has aloooot of potential. if u do the right things to them it will sound nice not ricey and it will be a pretty damn quick little car. my friends Si beats supercharged mustangs bmws evos eclipses and anthing in between. dont listen to missy she shouldnt even be posting a message. were here to help not put down honda owners.

I so agree. I have an auto Saturn SL2 , and i stomp civic's,integra's and even a ford probe SE(though i think he missed a gear but oh well). plus they are luxury, and have really good speakers that hit great. throw some subs and am intake kit with full exhust and you should be ok, for awhile!!!then get a body kit and halo head lights and LED tail euro lens's. BUT do not forget to get a set of rims with LOCKING lugs.

dont listen to them honda can be made fast, also i have seen 1992 honda dect out that smoked a 5.0 mustang at the drags, you can make anycar go fast with the right tools, saturn also dont last long either. it funny how people down civics, i have 07 si (stock ) 6 speed 197 hp, i can hit 133 mph in 5th gear. i have done it. so dont let anyone tell you that civis sucks cause they dont. hope this helps
