at how may miles did your car have. Mine is a 2003 with 120,000 miles, is this to be expected?

Fairly common. Most happen sooner so be grateful yours lasted that long! Make sure you get new pads when the put the rotors on. Its not necessary, but to prevent more issues down the road it is common practice for a reputable shop.

I have raplaced rotors for as long as 9 years. 110k, 95k, 140k. It all depends on how often you use the brakes. lol. seriously.

It is very difficult to predict just how long a set of rotors might last. However, brake rotors can last a long time if you don't overheat the brakes. Overheating warps the rotors, requiring 'turning' them on a machine that essential grinds the disk flat (again). There's only so much metal that can be removed before the disk is unsafe for operation.Factors that shorten the life of brake rotors:- lots of stop & go driving / minimal freeway driving- lots of driving winding roads & hills- constant transporting of heavy loads- 'riding the brakes' (ie, driving with one foot on gas & one foot slightly depressing the brake pedal)- constant agressive braking late before intersections/stopsFront rotors wear quicker than rear rotors, because 70% of braking efficiency occurs from the front brakes.Also, installing aftermarket, cross-drilled rotors will increase useful rotor life by promoting cooling of the disks...less likely to warp.
