you can compare the two models side by side at www.vehix.com The Civic SI is the top line Civic. It is hase a more powerful motor, different body kit, different interior, different wheels, upgrades suspension etc. It basically appeals to the tuner market.

Si stands for Sport Injected. Usually the Si has a better VTEC engine with better suspension and has a Moonroof with spoiler and a type of bodykit.

The difference is that the Honda civic SI is the performance version of the Honda Civic. It comes with a more powerful 197hp in-line four-cylinder compared to the regular civic's 140hp engine. Additionally, the SI comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, exclusive seats and upholstery unavailable on the regular civic. The term "SI" stands for "Sports Injection". This term goes back to the old Honda CRX SI days to differentiate the sporty "SI" versions from the regular CRX.
