Default is a 96 civic ex an ek, eg or what?

i have 1996 honda civic ex. looking on the internet for parts alot of them are labeled as eg, ek, ect. whart is my car???

EKI guess is just the code for that generation (the 6th) Civic. Like how Nissan's Sentra/Sunny are known as B13s, B14s, B15s, etc.The EK is the Civic manufactured between 1996 to 2000. EK...if you look at 93-95(small headlights) they are EG's..the 96-00 is an EK

thats what there called in japan by generation.88-91 EF 92-95 eg 96-00 ekIt gets more complicated.like the hatchback si 92-95 is called the eg6the 88-91 crx si is called the ef8...ect you have to do more research to know all the names

Someone mentioned EK, but that is for hatches only and there are other codes for coupes and sedans. 2-door coupe (EJ6/7/8/EM1)3-door hatchback (EK)4-door sedan (EJ6/8)

Does it say civic on the back and on the right side have an EX? if so its an ex... there all just different trims of the car...
