Every few weeks, after we've done a lot of stop & go driving (meaning we might run errands & turn the car on and off at several locations), our 1992 Honda Accord will have a little bit of trouble getting going again. It'll start up but then dies within about 2 seconds. It'll do this about 2 times, and then if we let it sit for a minute, it starts up like a champ & purs like a kitten. Any ideas about what could be causing this? It has 130,000 miles, is an automatic, recently had timing belt, water pump, and a basic tuneup. Thank you for any thoughts!No, it did not start happening after the timing belt replacement. That was about 6 months ago and this is very recent.

Could be something in the gas lines to the carburator or something to do with that. Sounds like a fuel thing though

your fuel pump might be starting to go out, fluctuating fuel pressure after it warms up. have that tested

My 1992 honda does the same thing

Has it acted this way ever sense you had timing belt replaced if so it could be out of time one or two tooths let me know because you need to have fixed now if thats the problem . GOOD LUCK!!!

ck. your EKG valve. thay carbon up and need cleaned or replaced.OR IT MIGHT BE YOUR FUEL PUMP OR FILTER!
