I just bought it used today. I noticed that the rear defrost circle button on the bottom of the center console does not light up red like the other 2 circle buttons next to it towards its left, should it light up? I also noticed that the thing that lets you change from park to drive, does not light up. Is it supposed to? If something is wrong, what might it be? My car is automatic, by the way.

Lights burn out. Your going to have to go to a civic fourm to get what lights you need to buy. The defrost button will be hard to replace and I wouldn't worry about it. My sister's civic has the same buttons and the defrost does light up red it is just you have to be at the right angle to see it. Dunno why...The lights on the shift gate are only going to come on when you have your head lights on and will probably only become visible when it is dark outside. Those lights will be easyer to replace but you will need to order those lights off the internet if it is like the Acuras that I have messed with.
