Question Accord vs. Civic

I know Accord and Civic are two different classes of cars but I would like to know...

Besides engine, size, design and body are different, what other differences between two cars? Does Accord have better parts (and less problems) than Civic in the long run?

I am owning a low mileage 98 Accord EX and am thinking about getting a 08 Civic. However, I feel like I'm downgrading my car (due to the class). In the future, if I want to get a new car, which car I would get more money out of it, Accord or Civic?

Thanks a lot!
