Default 1998 Civic compressor belt removal problems

I hesitate to add more questions to the forum that may have already been answered. However, I've searched through the archives and can't find anything addressing my problem.

I own a 98 Hond Civic EX. I believe it has the 1.6l SOHC. To my knowledge the accessory belts have never been replaced on this car. I easily removed the PS belt, loosened the compressor, and removed the alternator belt. However, I can't remove the belt from the AC compressor because it is centered around what appears to be a lower(driver's side) motor mount. I removed the exterior nut on the bolt that goes through the mount and into the bracket behind the compressor. This is located on bottom area of the driver's side fender well. The nut comes off, but the bolt extends far enough that I can't pull the motor mount off without actually breaking the honey comb looking things in the motor mount. Any ideas on easy removal of the compressor belt without removing the entire bracket behind the alternator(piece which the bolt that goes through the motor mount extends into)?

Last question, when the car ran prior to removing the belts, there has been a little whining. Over time, it has slowly gotten louder. To me, it sounds like one of the pulley's bearing are going bad rather than one of the belts loose. Is there a typical pulley that goes bad first on these vehicles? The power steering pulley tensioner spins freely, but probably not as freely as I think it should although there is not whining when I spin it. Is the tensioner pulley the only pulley that can be replaced without replacing the entire compressor and alternator assemblies?

I guess not.

For the future, if anyone runs into this same problem I ended up having to remove the upper motor mount (drivers side) that mounts to the side of the engine through the timing belt cover. Using a jack, I dropped the motor low enough to get the lower motor mount removed (after removing the 2 bolts on the frame under the front drivers side wheel well). After dropping the motor a few inches this allowed me to slide the lower motor mount off of the stud that is bolted through it. I would recommend using a 2x4 board or something flat to place under the oilpan/transmission to evenly distribute the weight of the jack underneath. This allows you to slide the AC compressor belt off of the motor mount stud and through the gap between the frame and the stud.

If your lower motor mount is already ruined (honey comb is all broken), you could just remove the two bolts and pull it off without dropping the motor. When you get the new belt, you could then replace the lower motor mount at the same time, although this would require removing the upper motor mount and dropping the engine a few inches. Or, just reinstall the busted lower motor mount after you put the new belt on. IMO, the lower motor mount doesn't appear to be an extremely high load bearing mount. Mine has been broken for a long time and I didn't have a clue that it was. The local Honda dealer tech said it is extremely common for it to be broken and never repaired without any consequences. Use your own discretion!
