They're a nice sports car as long as you're not over 6 feet tall, sportier than the MX5. At 19, however, make sure you get insurance rate quotes for this before buying one. I suspect it will be very expensive for you to insure one. Good luck!

Get a Miata instead. Those are EXTREMELY affordable, compared to an S2000. The Miata is renowned for being one of the greatest entry-level sports cars of all-time. (And that's what you need at age 19: entry level.)You might not even be able to get a loan for an S2000. The insurance might be jacked up too.

Yeah, S2000s are all that, and they're cheap too!!! You won't be wanting to take it on the freeway, however, they are really under-geared and the high rpms will get really get on your nerves. MX-5s are also pretty decent cars, but i don't know about all y'all, but I think they are chick cars. Most of mx-5 drivers are female.Believe me, though, you will notice the difference when you pay your insurance premium!!!!

YES.I absolutely love mine! It handles like nothing else ('cept maybe the Elise, which costs more), it's fast enough out of the box and can be modded to make a really, profoundly awesome car. There's nothing like putting the top down on a nice day and cruising around.... makes a trip to the store to get toilet paper an exciting run! I'm going to have this car for the rest of my life. Get one, you will NOT regret it!The only thing I don't like is that since it's my only car, I can't take all my friends around in it at once like I could with my last one.Don't listen to the person who mentioned BMW's - Z4's are cool looking (IMHO) and the hardtop models are really hot, but they cost a lot more and are definitely more problematic. To get close to the S2k's performance you'll have to spring for the 3.0, which is gonna cost, and the handling still isnt up to par. The S2k wins hands down for reliability; the MX5/Miata is a reliable car too, but it's not as quick as the S2k, it doesn't handle as well (don't get me wrong, they handle great, but the S2k is still better), and the styling is a lot cooler. It also doesn't have the chick car/gay connotation to it.I'm 6'2 and it's a tight fit. My torso is really long and because of that, my eyes are right level with the top of the windshield, so it can be annoying to try to see streetlights and whatnot, but it's worth it.Your insurance is gonna jump though... bigtime. If you have any q's, feel free to IM me!

I am a big fan of the S2K. I do not recommend getting a new one on your salary. I would look for a low mileage '00 model for around $9,000.00. Another great car, which I had this exact thing, is a '97 BMW Z3, 2.8 6cyl. 5spd. What a car. That was the most reliable year Z3 BMW made, too. The 2.8 has a lot of torque. Ya, Hondas are geared differently, much more revy. I think driving it like a motorcycle is fun. As long as you are switching gears at high RPMs, the S2k is very fast, faster even than the Z3 2.8 which I mentioned above. Don't get yourself in bigtime debt with a new one though dude. One thing I have to mention though is that consumer reports rates the S2k as having engine and transmission problems, which is rare for a Honda. I don't know what kind of problems and at what mileage they appear, but that may be a down side as far as an out of warranty one.
