Its dx, 5 speed and all stock, i want to lower it, and make it pretty quick, not crazy fast just quick. i make ok money but still want options without spending a fortune, any ideas? i'm new at working on cars for that reason. and please dont respond with telling me to get another car, im not going to. thanks. How about an engine swap, something up to 3 grand, anything worthwhile there, maybe a b16 for starters, like i said im not gonna go wild with, just have fun.

umm i would say get a 240sx but besides that, a cold air intake is fairly easy to install and around 100-200 dollars as far as bigger scales, there are many types of quality exhausts around the $1000 with pro installation

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend. take the dx motor out. Put a b16(160hp) or a jdm b18c (180hp)in there then it will be pretty quick and not crazy fast. im sure everyone that reads this will agree that you should do this if you are looking for pretty quick. If you are looking for a little more put a h22 or k20. These 2 engines have way more torque than the others and more HP. From what i heard the k20 in a hatch is SICK!!! but expensive. Dont put an intake and exhaust on your d15 engine. It is affordable but you will notice nothing as far as quickness. Trust me been there done that

The easiest way to make power is making the engine breath. Change stock exhaust with simple aftermarket catback and headers (reduces back pressure). Cold air intake is also a must. These are the first things to do otherwise the stock intake/exhaust system will be limiting you. That done, I would then drop in a new mild camshaft with added duration and lift. You can expect up to 20-25HP with these mods. I would be a liar telling you to expect more. Don't forget there is no replacement for displacement so that 1.6liter has its limitation. To improve handling, install low profile tires with added width (don't go to wide, otherwise it will slow you down) Add 1 or 2 centimeter of width. There is no limitation to reduce wall height but the more you do, the less comfortable your ride will be but better the handling. Try to keep everything balanced. Have fun with the car.

the b16 will be the cheapest swap that will make a decent amount of power. the b16 is fun because you can beat on it and beat on it all day, everyday and not worry about it. the gsr is a great swap too. actually an ls b18b or b20 with a b16 trans is a great swap. decently quick, good torque and great for boost later. slam it! get some ground control coilovers
