I'm supposed to be getting a '97 Honda civic ex coupe for my birthday in the next 4 months. I know that it comes with cloth seats but I don't want them. I was thinking about getting racing seats but they cost to much money. I then thought that it would be easier to reupholster the seats with leather. I found a pretty decent leather at a fabric store for $12.99 a yard. I just need to know how to reupholster the seats because I know that it is different then reupholstering a chair. I've also found that it is extremely expensive to have an auto shop reupholster them. Any answers or links would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Take it to an auto trim shop. There are just some things that have to be taken to a pro.

If you like to sew you can do it yourself. take off the old covers and using a razor cut the seam. use the old pieces as templates to make new ones and sew back up.
