87 Accord high rpms when strted cold
I am working on a 87 Accord automatic hatchback that has a carburetor. The problem is that when you start the engine in cold weather and it has been sitting for awhile the engine rpms slowly go up to 4000rpm and it won't kick down by itself, there even have been times that i have burped the gas pedal and it still wouldn't come down. I have cheked to bymetalic spring and it is operating properly as well as the plate the opens to allow exhaust gas into the intake and it is also working properly. I have also lubed all the moving parts and cables. I have gone through other peoples problems in here and they have suggested the Frequency valve c, but when i contacted honda they said they could not find that valve fot this perticular car. And unfortunatly the vacuum line diagram is missing from under the hood so i am not to sure which line is a vacuum and which is a pressure. I there is anyone who has any ideas please don't hesitate, i do not want to take this car to honda and pay on arm and a leg until i have exhausted every option. thanks
