A blown head gasket will not cause oil consumption. It can cause compression loss and coolant loss in to the exhaust. If you have white smoke out of the exhaust that is a sure sign that you have coolant in the exhaust and the head gasket is most likely the cause.

i had a blown head gasket on a pontiac grand am. i was losing water out of radiator,-no puddles on ground or broken hoses so it had to be going out the tail pipe. took it to shop and it was the gasket. it was kind of pricey to fix. didnt use oil
