Take the old engine, and sell it. Then, take the civic, and sell it. Borrow some money, and buy a used e36 BMW... That's what I did, and I haven't regretted it once! Whatever engine you put in a civic, it's still a Honda, which isn't gonna get you noticed anywhere in the world. Get something nice, that doesn 't have the sound or build quality of a blender.Personal experiance, my opinion...

actually the b18c is the GSR not the LS. But both b18c and b18b are good engines. If you are looking to turbo go with the b18b stronger block and can handle more boost. If you are not going to turbo but are looking to do a cheap swap h22. If money is no big deal for you go with the k20.
