If you do the regular maintenence like your supposed to , the motor will out last the body. I had a prelude with 240,000 miles and you could stand next to it and not hear it run it ran so well.I sold it and the next owner put 80,000 more miles on it then wrecked it.

I have had two Civics with over 200k and I recently saw one for sale in Atlanta with over 940,000. Honda does have a site that you can post your honda with its milage. Go here to see more proof that Hondas will last.

Thats like how long is a piece of string...It all depends if you regularly service you vehicle, maintain it & drive safely.I have also seen hondas with over 200k's on them and still run like a dream.I would suggest you look after your car and you wont have to worry about it.

I have a 1990 Honda with 180K miles on it that is still running on the original engine and tranny. It has been in 3 wrecks but it is still a good car for commuting to work.

I have had 5 hondas. 4 of them had over 200,000. My civic that I now have ('89) has 386,000. My CRX ('91) has 236,000. If not well maintained they will tend to smoke at about 180,000 to 220,000 miles. I'm referring to the D15B engines. Great thing is that replacement low-mileage engines are available from the Japanese salvage market at prices around $500. That includes shipping to your door.

1996 Civic Hatch 198,700 (viciously hard) miles and counting. It burns a little oil but other than that its still going great. It still gets 35mpg.The main bearings in the manual trannys always give up around 150000 miles but the trannys are cheap to swap out. I bought a used one on ebay for 150 and got it put in for a couple hundred. The official line from honda is that the engines should last 250K without a rebuild. This is probably pretty accurate if you are diligent about maintenance and drive lightly. Yours is barely even broken in.

My dad has a 89 Civic Hatchback (manual) and his lasted up to 200+ miles until something happened with the Engine Head so instead of just fixing it he spent about 400 bucks and dropped a newer engine in there and its running like a champ still. In any way it still gets about 39 mpg only about 25 bucks to fill up the tank.
