the car comes with a basic security system as standard equipment. that security system will sound the horn if the vehicle is entered without first unlocking the car doors with a remote or by using the key to open the driver's door.the car also has the immobilizer system on it. The immobilizer prevents the car from being started without using a key that is programmed specifically to the control unit on that individual car.the alarms that dealers sell only offer a 'vibration sensor' to sound the alarm if someone trys to break a window. Whether that additional level of security is of value to you is for you to decide, as is the question of whether or not you want to go outside at 3:00 AM to shut the alarm off after a heavy truck goes by.hope that answers your question
