If the idler isn't making any noise or if it isn't loose, I wouldn't.

You don't have to, but you're going to have the timing cover open, so you might as well change it instead of having to open again in a few thousand miles.

90,000 miles is the recomended interval,or at least it is on my 96 v/6,never heard of doing the idiler pulley unless it is making noise, but the waterpump is recommended to be changed at this time, mainly because it is easier to do it then than later and you don't have to pay the belt removal or back on labor.

Dude, you're way overdue for timing belt and water pump replacement, they're to be replaced at 96,000 Km or 50,000 miles For V6 or not. as for the idler pulley, it's up to you to change it or not but this is a good time to replace it because you don't have to pay for labor(labor covers timing belt, water pump, and pulley), you just pay for the part. It will cost you more if you later decide to have it changed(part+labor).
