I have a 2001 civic lx with a d17 engine. I was wondering what kind of improvement i would get from an engine swap. I could also use information on where to get a b series engine

It would be pointless to do a B series swap in a Civic above the year 2000. It will cost more than a K series swap after all the retro-fitting. Do the K series and you will be much happier and have more money left over.

yeah do a K swap, expensive but worth it. to save money you could so a K24 with a k20 head to save a bit of money.
