my civic will turn over but only gets enough fuel to quickly start then stall. I changed the fuel filter thinking it may be the easiest fix but still the same thing. I have read that it may be the main relay(distributer/fuel pump power) but it turns over just doesn't seem to get enough fuel to keep running, so i'm not sure that this is the problem, it must be the fuel pump next. i have read that the fuel pump is located in the tank and also read some can get to it under the back carpet. here's my question should i be able to here it humming if the key is on and where would i listen for the humming in the back hatch above the tank or under the tank, and is there a sure way to test that it's the pump before pulling the tank off. any help would be great.

yesterday i went to pick n pull and got a fuel pump off the same year civic. Looks good so today i will put it in , i have a question about the fuel sender sensor(under back seat middle) how do you know if it needs replacing? anyways so far this wicked weekend i will have finished replacing- fuel filter, air filter, and fuel pump. I am a first timer but going to the pick n pull gave me a good understanding of whats up. any comments or help would be good though.
