2000 civic: How to remove lower alternator mount bolt?
Hi,
I'm trying to remove the alternator in my 2000 civic EX 2dr. I have the through bolt and upper mounting bolts out, and the belt off. The alternator can rotate in the lower mounting bracket, now, and despite removing the through bolt, it seems like it's still attached to the lower mounting bracket, which is held on to the block by two bolts. I can easily remove the right bolt, but the bottom of the alternator covers the left one so I can't use a socket to remove it. Also there isn't enough clearance around the bolt for me to get a box wrench or any other wrench around this bolt ( i think it's 11mm ). Any advice on what tool to use to remove this bolt?
I'm removing it because I brok the B terminal bolt and sheared it off pretty much flush with where it comes out of the alternator. I need to take it out to replace the B terminal if possible.
Thanks,
Jay
