there so many parts together to build a engine, it aint just one whole big block put in the car, say two of the piston inside worn out, all you need to do is take the engine out, open it up, put the new ones in, fill in back the engine oil, then you good.but then it might cost you 3g just doing it, might as well for another car

well honda has always made a really good motor and transmission but there is alot more you have to do with any car that has that many miles. Of course always get the all the fluids checked including oil, transmission, coolant, and brake fluid. Also another thing with an older car is take it to a shop and pay for there safety inspection and they will check over the whole car and tell you everything that should and needs to be done to the car based on the maintenance manual. The last major thing which could save money on tires is an alignment and front end check. It might be some big money up front but itll save you money in the long run when it comes to buying tires over and over again.

Modern vehicles are engineered to last at least 150,000 miles. keep up on the oil changes, drive easy, drive the car even easier in cold weather and when the engine is warming up, and pay attention to noises, smells, sounds , and fluid levels. I had a Jetta last 270k+ miles . I drove it hard, but I also kept it maintained and had to replace parts when they wore out. but as far as the engine itself (the pistons and rings) just do the above mentioned and dont be saddened if you have to invest about $500 a year to keep it going. ( tires, alternator, battery, brakes, fluid changes etc) with only 167k miles , I wouldnt worry. I would expect it to serve you well for the next 3 or 4 years... or 200k miles then you can start worrying

maintenance is the key, if you're getting oil changes on time it can last you forever. My best friend in highschool got his dad's honda accord when he turned 16. it had 212K miles when he got it and he drove it to 375K! just take care of it and it will take care of you.

my 96 accord has 293,000 miles on it and still counting, only things that have broken on this car that wasn't routine maintenence is an abs sensor and a power steering pump, both went with well over 200,000 on it though, and the total cost of repairs was (did it myself) about 280 $just remeber to do the timing belt every 90,000 miles,it is crucial in the longevity of your Accord

Hard to tell. I have a 96 LX manual that we bought new. My wife drove it for the first 115,000, then handed it down to me. It now has 227,000 miles on it and is going strong. It sees redline frequently in the first couple of gears. Original clutch, transmission, alternator, starter. Replaced the exhaust once, timing belt twice, two driver's side window regulators, tuned up three times, and replaced an AC condensor at 120,000. 29-31 mpg tank after tank. It gets driven hard and put away wet. Does not use a quart of oil between changes (never change more frequently than 7,000 miles, sometimes as much as 12,000). Hands off straight at 80. It's like a kitchen appliance- need it, turn it on. Done, turn it off. I wish it would die so that I could justify buying an Element, but the darnned thing keeps working! 600 miles today in sub zero MN weather. Your experience may vary.
