Try other car, not just honda. Honda is nice but, i think is hard to find a bargain deal with them, i try to buy a civic, for same model a year later still cost the same, nearly no price drop. While Toyota and Nissan is much easier to bargain for good price in my opinion. Try Corolla is also nice and Scion. Versa is good if you wanna tech for low price.

Honda Civic. It's more safer, faster and roomier.

We went back and forth between Fit and Civic. Thought Fit was a new car when really it was the Jazz in Europe and went with Civic. I think that the Fit has a lot of room in the back that may be more helpful to carrying child-related items

A honda Civic is abetter car to me. I have one and me and my husband love it the honda civic has more trunk space and also a little more of a back seat. And plus civics has been out befor the fit so i would go with something that has been out and is dependable and CIVICS ARE THE SHIT!!!

I actually own both, your qquestion caught my eye. if money is an issue, the FIT isnt a bad car at all its safe, fun to drive and it has seating for four comfortably, or five if you wanna squish in the back. If money isnt a huge deal ( how stupid does that sound...) the civic does have more features and is more luxurious, as well as notably larger. But, again raising a family, your budget is tight Id say a FIT, I love mine ( go with orange! )

To answer your question, I've test driven both and I would go with the Fit. To me, it seemed a little peppier and also easier to drive. I imagine that your little one is young enough that lots of leg room is not an issue yet. Also, the Fit is cheaper and better on gas (and thus more environmentally friendly).

They're both great cars. The Civic is a little more luxurious (especially the EX), a little faster, and probably rides better, but the Fit has a big hatchback which can be really useful. You can't go wrong with either one.
