Hi! My 91 Honda Accord's engine has been very loud the past few weeks. The faster I go the louder it gets. It's definitely not normal. Could it be the transmission? Any advice? Thanks!The noise is like a loud humming....like it's working harder than normal.It's got about 130,000 miles, is well maintained, and the pitch does not change. Depending ont he speed it will get louder or softer.

It could be many things.What noise is it making exactly?Based off what you said, and no description of the noise, Id first check into a possible exhaust leak.

A loud hum is hard to pinpoint. Could be the power steering pump is out of fluid. If it's been out of fluid for a few weeks it's probably shot by now. It was probably leaking from a power steering hose initially. I will need more info to better help you. How many miles does your car have? Over a 100,000? Is the check engine light on? Are there any changes in the frequency (pitch) of the noise when you do certain things? eg. press on the brakes, turn the steering wheel, etc. How well maintained is this vehicle? eg. regular oil changes, maintainence items, etc. ?

you sure its the motor? sounds like a wheel bearing to me.
