Default Problems with catalytic converter 03 accord

I have a 4 cylinder 2003 Honda Accord Ex with about 125k miles. Two weeks ago my check engine came on I took the car to the dealership and was told code P0420 came back which is for Catalytic Converter and it would cost me $1,100 to fix. I donít have 1,100 to replace a Catalytic Converter. I called a local muffler shop and they were able to put on a Magnaflow Catalytic Converter I also had the o2 sensor replaced. Iím not sure what to do. Are my only options to speed the $1,100 with the dealership?

Any info would help. Thanks
