I'm having a bunch of problems with my 91 accord. I'm kinda wondering if a) they are worth fixing, b) what the heck the problem is and c) if these are common problems others have had with their accords. (note, i cant expect the thing to run perfect..it does have 200,000+ miles on it)
So here's the problems i'm having:
1) The speedometer just stops working. I'm going 70mph, and all the sudden it reads "0", i can still read all the other gauges (tho the gas is faulty from time to time), its really just the speedometer. (i know what causes this i'm just asking has anyone else w/ an accord had this problem?)
2) shortly after my speedometer goes loopy, my 'check engine' comes on and my sports engine icon starts flashing (

)
3) The engine surges when its idling, but only in park. it sounds awful. Now, i did just put seafoam cleaner in the engine, and i know that it idles loud and weird when you put it in the brake booster line, so is that whats happening here?
4) the biggest problem, the engine just simply cuts off. Usually only when I'm idling in drive, sometimes its stutters, sometimes it doesn't. I know there is SO many things that can be causing this, the compression, the idle air control valve, i've heard a theory about an alternator malfunction, or just leaks in general but has anyone else had this prob and what did it end up being?
5) engine surges at 19-20 mph and around 55-60 mph. sometimes taking it out of sport is whats making it feel like its surging more than normal but sometimes i have it running normally, without the sport-engine setting and it still surges.
i really dont have money for a new car at the moment, so i'm hoping it can be fixed, atleast to drive about 14 miles a day.
