My wife owns an '05, also an EX, and absolutely LOVES it! Options she got were roof rack, foot rail, camping tent, table leg option for spare tire cover, On-demand 4x4 traction, XM radio, and a few others. Pros are it has excellent ride height, great visibility, comfortable seating for long trips, ease of cleaning, good gas mileage. Hauling goods? We once got an 8-foot long box in it, 4 inches thick, slide up to the shifter, and closed the rear hatch. Tight quarters, but it fit! Tables should fit as well, if the passenger doesn't mind. Has a VERY tight turning radius, excellent for U-turns. Has a theft deterrent system, where you can chose a button at the dealership that you have to press while starting the vehicle( like electric window switch), so it can be different from Element to Element, so thieves won't know which button to try while trying to start it. Cons - it has some road noise due to lack of carpeting, and the huge front windshield pillars do block some vision, but not dangerously so. The ride can be choppy, due to it's short wheel base, but you live with that in most all SUV-type vehicles anyway. It's no Cadillac ride, but for a utility vehicle, it's very versatile and functional. I've ridden in it quite a bit, since we take her newer vehicle rather than my old Jeep Cherokee. The seats can lay back, and it's comfortable. Other than the road noise, which is not great, just noticeable, and the slightly choppy ride ( which might improve with more passengers or cargo ), it's an excellent vehicle, and you won't be disappointed. No unexpected service problems that I recall, it's got 27,000 miles on it and performing beautifully. She also had a tow option installed on it, to tow her craft trailer. It is slow accelerating when it's got 2,000 lbs to pull, but it does it adequately enough. So, it's a great vehicle, my wife prefers the grey panels rather than the newer 07-08 painted fenders. Her's is orange. I think you'll love it if you like utility combined with a great running vehicle. Takes a bit of getting used to the windshield being so far away ( but then again, that can be a Pro, for safety, as your head is unlikely to travel THAT far to hit it! ). Also, the rear passengers sit higher, so they can see ahead as well, not thru your head ( theatre seating ). The vehicle has alot going for it, and few minuses, so if you're looking for a great utility vehicle, this may be it. - The Gremlin Guy -

Pro's---Lots of interior Room, and it's a Honda--They are dependable vehiclesCon's--Toaster on Wheels AND It's a Honda, they are 100% made overseas, shipped here as individual components, assembled in America by robot machines Promoted as Made in America (because thats where the assembly plants are) and end up costing Americans they're jobs while sending our hard earned dollars overseas.

I agree with Gremling, but also wanted to add one pro and one con.Pro - average 24 mpg. - Although it is a 4-cylinder, it is better than most SUV's. Con - The Element is only designed to carry 675 total lbs. or people and cargo (per the owners manual). If you think about it, it is recommended that you carry not much more than 4 people.
