Honda charges more for the PAX tires because they come with the individual tire pressure monitoring system. PAX tires are run-flat tires that are quite expensive to replace, mainly because of the special hard plastic ring that goes around the rim, which you are then allowed to drive up to 150 miles on. Many people dislike PAX tires because the tread life is ridiculously short, and they price to replace them is insane. If you're getting an '08 Odyssey Touring, I'd highly suggest getting the the non-PAX tires.

Since the touring edition comes from the factory with run-flat tire, you have to get them on this model-they are also 18" wheels-if you change them, you will be installing 16" wheels-also the tire pressure monitor system is different on the two, so you will have a failure warnig for the tpms at all times-

well... pax charge for replacement is $1k+ and people were not informed of this, as previous people stated the life is very short for these tires, in the 08 model all honda's come with the tpms (tire pressure monitoring system). i think honda realised that their customers were not happy with this 1k + tire change option and decided to offer both to accomidate all.
