Do the rpm's pick up or do they not? If the engine rpm does not increase, or increases very slowly yet the car stays running around 2000 rpm as though it has a governor on it then the chances are you have a restricted catalytic converter.a restricted convertor acts like a governor as the exhaust can't get out of the engine fast enough to allow the engine to turn faster to increase speed. If the rpm goes up but the car does not move faster then the problem is with the transmission slipping. if your engine speed in rpm moves up as the gas pedal is depressed then the engine is fine but there is a power loss between the engine and the wheels. that poer loss comes from a slipping clutch on a manual transmission car or a slipping automatic transmission.a restricted fuel filter can cause this but typically a restricted fuel filter will cause the car to buck or surge. The size of the fuel filter on the accord is about the same size as an oil filter and they rarely clogI have seen the condition you describe happen when people put diesel fuel in a gasoline car. I've also seen contaminated fuel (bad gasoline) cause the problem. Hope that gives you some ideas of what to check depending on what the car is doing.hope that helps
