First of all... about the post above me... VTEC winding up? VTEC doesnt wind up. You need to do some research on what VTEC is and what it does before you make ridiculous claims.It is because of VTEC that your car makes that sound. But it will do it anytime you are in high RPMs.VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control) causes your cams to change profiles, there by changing the amount of lift (How high your valves open) and the duration that your valves stay open.This results in more air and fuel going into the combustion chamber. There by producing more power, and the sound that your hear.

the sound your engine is making is indeed vtec. i might be wrong but it should engage at about 3500-3700 rpms. now the tricky part is it depends on how far you have the throttle pushed down. where that pedal is in relation to what gear you are in the ecu will decide to either engage vtec or not. and vtec was originally made for better fuel economy.fyi. injen intake on that car and it'll sound mean.
