Default What is your opinion on the Honda Civic?

Namely, '92s-'95s. But any opinion on any year will do, most thorough/informative answer gets best.I ask because I'm saving up to buy a car in a little more than a year and I don't know what to get. It will be my first car, and I will be 16.Well if a Civic is so bad, why not actually help me out and point me in the right direction? SUGGESTIONS, PEOPLE?

they are very reliable. My friend's civic has 220k now, besides the normal maintenance such as oil change, timing belt, clutch at 150k, tune up. It has been running very strong for him.

Junk ,junk and junk. If you want a car you don't care about but what to spend lots of money on maintenance. It's the perfect car. Other wise save up for something a lot better.

its a good car to buy if you are saving up though try not to spend more than 3k and if you do make sure its clean dont buy one thats been moded since you wont know if they did a good job or not...... they have a good following for aftermarket parts and they are fairly reliable.... the best car insurance wise would be the four door many like the hatchback due to its light weight which gives you better gas mileage and the ability to sit four friends... have at least 2k for the odd repairs down the road like timing belt and or motor depending on what happens....

If you need a car that you can drive into the ground while getting good gas milage and beating it to crap then go with the Civic. However, if you want a car that you can customize or take good care of and have something that isnt worthless in 5 years you may want to look elsewhere. It's a good car for what it is, as long as you use it for what it is.

well let me tell you.. had a 1990 and now i have a 2003 one..overall they are ok to drive..i mean if u looking for speed this is not the one...unless u buy the si model or other model with vtec injection ..anyway i heard they are easy to be stolen but nothing has ever happened to any of my cars..i guess the new models from the year 2000 are safer since they have the alarm and all that..other good point is the gas milage could go from 25 mpg which is very acceptable..well think about it..good luck

GO FOR IT!And besides, its a "Honda"the name says it all!Back when I was your age, I had a 94 Accord and I took it thru hell and high water and that car still lasted! I would try n go off road riding, jumping railroad tracks, and doing 360's, lol! (boi was i young and dumb, lol) I could go months with out an oil change, weeks with out gas, i think the longest I went on "E" was about 2 weeks!! but long story short, was a great car, got me thru college, had absolutlely NO PROBLEMS of it, except for brakes, which wasn't too pricey. So over all, go for it!
