that is a whole lot of miles. I wouldn't get it. The engine should give out soon. Cars aren't made to go more than about 250000 miles anymore. aluminum heads. they warp with age. 1000 is a lot to pay for a car that more than likely won't last two years without a new engine. I paid 800 for my 1995 nissan pathfinder two years ago and it only had 120,000 miles when I bought it.

I have a 89 Honda and have had it since 95. I still have it and would not let it go, it is call my hoop-T. My hoop-T is great on gas and I really don't know how many miles I have, it just keep running and running. That's one of my best investment, plus when every a car is down and someone needs it, it's always been reliable. If you do purchase the honda, try not to bring up any repairs that you may do or if something is broken. This might put a damper on your friendship. Good luck.

they do last forever... but I wouldn't pay that much due to the high mileage.. try to get him to lower the price. I am now in my 3rd civic...they do last forever. the last one I had I sold the motor out of it and it had 292000 miles on it at that time. the girl who bought the motor is still driving it a year later... offer him 800 or so.
