Default 91 honda civic wont turn on?

I have a 91 Honda civic and it wont start....the car will crank but it wont run, you know what i mean? I checked the spark plugs and put them back in and then I tried to start it up but then it doesn't start up....I replaced the fuel filter but nothing....sometimes it sound like it wants to turn on but then it goes away....I just replaced two of the 4 spark plug, so I dont know what the problem is.

check your fuel pressure, could be a bad fuel pump.

u checked the alternator? if thats gone to %$#^ the car will crank but just not do nothing. Give the alternator a hit with something then try and start the car again...sounds ridiculous i know but it works...if not check the battery for corrosion or check that its not just gone to $%^&!

NOOOOOO! That is my absolute nightmare! (I also have a '91 Honda Civic).I'd automatically say spark plugs, because that seems to be an issue with older Civics. In fact, my car leaks oil into the spark plug tubes and I have to replace them every few months.Beyond that, I'm not sure. If you replaced them, then it is probably another ignition problem. Take it to a mechanic to have a look.

Have you checked the oil pressure? WIth out proper oil pressure (or not enough oil) the car's cylinder heads don't move because of the amount of friction they produce.

Check the battery, belts and the starter. My 90 civic had a bad starter that worked part time. It was expensive to replace so go to Sears or something and have them test the starting system.
