Default Honda Used Car warranty?

Two questions:1. Sales Manager at local Honda tells me no warranty comes with a 2005 Honda Accord that I am about to purchase. Is this true? It doesnt seem right. He told me that without a purchased plan, the warranty is "about 30 ft out the door"2. Should I buy a warranty on this Accord. It has 18,500 miles and I know the previous owner (she was light on the car). Please help me!!!The person who had it before me LEASED it...so there is not a warranty from the original person who leased.

the warranty will pass to you, via the old owner...the sales person is trying to sell you something...call Honda Corp. (number is in your phone book and here online) and tell them what you were told, they'll take care of Mr. Salesman the liar.

With only 18,500 miles on it, the car is slightly used. You don't need to buy a warranty as the car is still under manufacturer's warranty and it should be passed to you from the previous owner. You should call Honda head office about this. Don't buy if you have to cuz a Honda is reliable car. Just keep up with regular maintenance and it should last you for a long long time.

If the original purchase date was less than 3 years ago, there should be a little warranty time left. Other than that, I guess the dealer offers nothing on used cars.I don't know whether an extended warranty that is any good is still available at this point. However, if you want a warranty, why on earth are you buying a Honda that is only 3 years old and has been treated well with low mileage? That's a car to purchase if you want to AVOID a warranty.

I believe Honda comes with a 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 6 year power-train warranty for defects due to manufacture. However, if problem happens, and you can't show that the vehicle is duly maintained according to the schedule stated in the owner's manual, Honda has the rights to decline the warranty. In other words, if due maintenances are not conducted, the warranties are void.
