I won't drive faster than 65 MPH, I don't floor it out of lights, and I get pretty good gas mileage as it is, but I'm really wondering if there's anything I can do to improve my fuel economy further. My car's a 2000 Honda Civic Hatch, auto. Thanks!

You should change the spark plugs every 6 months and change the spark plug wires to better ones too. Try adding the fuel injector cleaners as well. You may want to change the timing belt if its over 80K miles. Just some ideas to try I don't know if it will work but I hear it does?

besides the tune up,clean airfilter when was the last timing belt you have installed, did you take it in to have it adjusted at around 45k, the tire pressure and 4 wheel alignment takes a great toll on drag of the vehicletype of fuel that is consumed the condition of your engine coolant and radiator --running hotter or cooler than usualthe condition of your spark from your coil/s --a weak spark will waste fuelkeep your windows closed while driving to keep the resistance down

Ok changing parts won't do much and cost you more than the fuel you will save. Just make sure the car follows the normal maintenance. Look at this link http://www.motherjones.com/news/feat...tmlHypermilers take alot to extremes but there are some basic things you can do. My BMW 335i twin turbo mpg was about 20.5 and now is 23.5 after doing some hypermilers tips. First make sure your car has a tune up. Second check your inflation in your tires. The higher inflation means less surface area. Coast to stops. Buy fuel injection cleaner to get rid of deposits to help with atomization. You can do this once. Fill up with the correct gas grade(should be 87oct for your car) and dont go higher. Any way i can go on and on but read the artical and do a search on google or msn for hypermilers. Someone in a prius holds a record of 215mpg

All of these are right, correct air pressure, proper tune ups and maintainence, and steady driving habits, but also don't forget about the air cleaner too. You don't have to go aftermarket or anything, but a good clean paper aircleaner will make a good deal of difference. And another big factor is try driving not using your A/C, it will put more stress on your engine while it is running, oculd easily save you a mile or two.
